Make the Switch Monday: Natural Radiance Serum Alternative Treatment

Achieving a radiant face (besides, maybe, a blemish-free one!) is the ultimate goal for beauty lovers. So much so that popular makeup and skincare counters carry tons of different radiance serum options to suit every beauty lover’s desire. A radiance serum is meant to be applied to the face and neck after cleansing and followed up with a moisturizer. Eventually, after regular use, radiance serums are supposed to rid the skin of dark circles and scarring so that the face is a smooth, glowing canvas.

However, as lovely as radiance serums sound, most beauty and skincare counters carry serums with ingredients that are less than lovely. In fact, most radiance serums contain more than 15 ingredients! Of those ingredients, the most recognizable item is ‘water’ which is, more often than not, the very first ingredient listed. Most of us know that the first ingredient listed on anything (food, makeup, or otherwise!) means that what’s inside is mostly made up of that single ingredient. So, this means that any skincare product with the word ‘water’ listed as it’s first ingredient is most likely a bottle of watered down “stuff.”

Take a look at the brand Caudalie’s Vinoperfect Radiance Serum. According to a popular beauty shop, it costs $79.00, customers rate it a four out of five stars, and “researchers” saw a difference in their skin after 56 days of regular use. The serum is non-comodegenic, oil-free, and works on all skin types. The product also claims to be formulated without parabens, sulfates, phthalates, and gluten free (great!) but what about the other 18 ingredients? The long list of ingredients is mostly made up of chemicals and dyes with the single exception of water.

A simple search on ewg.org provides information on how toxic Caudalie’s Vinoperfect Radiance Serum actually is. EWG.org’s Skin Deep scale provides people with information on most beauty products, from makeup to skincare to creams and lotions. According to EWG’s website, Skin Deep “is an online safety guide for cosmetics and personal care products, launched in 2004 to help people find safer products, with fewer ingredients that are hazardous or that haven't been thoroughly tested. Skin Deep combines product ingredient lists with information in more than 50 standard toxicity and regulatory databases. The database provides easy-to-navigate safety ratings for tens of thousands of personal care products.”

According to EWG’s Skin Deep, Caudalie’s Vinoperfect Radiance Serum is mostly made of up ingredients with strong toxicity ratings; therefore Caudalie’s Vinoperfect Radiance Serum rates an 8 out of 10 on EWG’s toxicity scale. High concerns include irritation in the eyes, on the skin, or in the lungs, moderate concerns include contamination concerns and organ-system toxicity, and low concerns include cancer, endocrine disruption, and neurotoxicity.

Thankfully, you can switch to a cleaner, more natural alternative without compromising your skin. Our Vintner's Daughter Active Botanical Serum is a top selling product that can help repair, heal, and slow down the process of aging. Vintner's Daughter Active Botanical Serum's ingredients are mostly comprised of plant sources and is formulated without GMOs, artificial colors, parabens, phthalates, synthetic fragrances, PEGs, and SLSs.

How do they do it? Well, they source the world’s most potent, organic and wild-crafted botanicals with the singular goal of creating the most active and luxurious all-natural product possible. Each ingredient is chosen for not only its individual capabilities, but also how it works synergistically with other ingredients. It takes many weeks to bring these ingredients together and ensure that every drop of our formula is infused with the highest levels of powerful skin renewing agents. After the formulation is complete, Vintner’s Daughter Serum is sealed in a violet-colored glass bottle that harnesses specific light rays to increase the energy level of our serum while in bottle. All of this is done to ensure that our serum protects and nourishes your skin at the highest level.

You’ll notice that chemical alternatives like Caudalie’s Vinoperfect Serum do not provide helpful information like we do. It is important to look at your skincare and makeup choices as you would look at your food choices. Before purchasing anything from popular beauty and skincare counters, do your research. EWG.org is an excellent source in providing accurate information on just how toxic popular beauty products are.
